Robert Rauchhaus is a licensed real estate broker who specializes in commercial real estate and business brokering. Robert has helped clients buy, sell, and lease commercial real estate in all asset classes, including retail, industrial, office, medical, multi-family, assisted living, hospitality, ranch, and raw land. He has worked with clients in a variety of industries including hotel/hospitality, assisted living/senior care, defense-aerospace, energy, telecom, entertainment, food, transportation, agriculture, and retail. While Robert works across asset classes and industries, he is especially committed to commercial real estate in the Santa Ynez Valley, and hospitality realty statewide.
Robert has over 20 years of industry experience, including 10 years with Radius Commercial Real Estate, and earlier business brokering/M&A advisory experience with First Principle and strategy consulting with McKinsey and Company. In addition to his work in the private sector, Robert has held academic appointments at Princeton, UC Santa Barbara, and the National Defense University. He earned his BA, MA, and PhD in political science at UC Berkeley, where he focused on international relations and research methodology, including game theory and statistics. Robert has also served as an infantryman in the Army National Guard.
Current non-profit activities include board membership with the Santa Ynez Chamber of Commerce and the planning committee for the Santa Barbara Community Prayer Breakfast. Robert has served on numerous other boards, including the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation, the Montessori Center School, and the Pacific Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross, where he also served as Chair. Robert resides in the Santa Ynez Valley. His hobbies include horses, fly fishing, and tennis.
